The card is made on an easel card base and the design was extended to the bottom panel for a 3D effect. The image is stitched and coloured with Copics along with some fishy brads and balsam wood for the sentiment.
These stamps make truly make it easy to create a "guy" card design:)

(These Fairies are amazing I have used them on so many projects and totally adore them!)
Okay let's get started with the tutorial :)
The lantern was inspired by a facebook post on how to make a fast and easy lantern. There was a few more steps and a bit of troubleshooting along the way. I think this tutorial is a fun way to use these these super cute fairies :)
Grab a jar from your recycling bin. I used a pickle jar, you will also need white acrylic paint and a sponge.
Next, prepare your images. I used all three fairies mentioned above. Stamped with black ink, fussy cut and them coloured entirely with a black sharpie marker to create a silhouette effect. Glue the fairies to a base created with cardstock. Also punch out some butterflies, stars and grassy details from black card stock. Set the images aside for now.
Lightly dampen your sponge with water and apply a light coat of white acrylic paint to the inside of the jar. Let dry.
Then add your images, including the fairies, stars, butterflies and grass to the inside of the jar. Use a Matt Medium to adhere the images and die cuts the sides on the jar (from the inside). Let Dry.
Paint your cap and create two holes using a hammer and nail. (I ended up using a softer wire for the handle as the coat hanger was too tough to bend.) Also spaced the handele out a little bit wider on the cap.
Apply foil tape strips in a criss-cross pattern to the outside of the jar for a lantern effect. I used a black sharpie marker on the foil before adhering to the jar. You could also use wire , strips of black card stock or nothing at all. Either way it will look good :)
Apply a mixture of matte medium and fine clear glitter to the outside of the jar. Apply uneven (here and there) just for a textured look to the jar.
I believe you could use a matte Modge Podge in place of the Ranger Matte Medium that I used for this project :)
Decorate your cap. I used faux flowers, green moss, vintage bird and deer and the super cuter :Fairies make a garden grow" sentiment. Oh and add some ribbon to the Handel also!
Colour up one of the fairies and fussy cut. I added a eyelet and wire to string around the jar. Its really only for show while the lantern is not being used. Otherwise I thought it looked unfinished without this added touch! The fairies is on a wire which is easily removed when its time to light up at night!
I used an electronic tea light. This lantern is only intended for a battery operated tea light (not a candle and not a regular tea light, battery operated only!)
I also added some moss to the inside of the jar
Turn on and enjoy!
Check out my little video here :)
I managed not to fight with the cat this time :D

The image is coloured with Copics and I created an outdoor scene around the mouse for some added Summer goodness!
I thought the ribbon was a fun touch and coordinates well with the stamp. The sentiment actually reads "Make a Wish" but I only inked up the "Wish" as it fit perfectly on the card.
The seeds on the berry were coloured with a white sharpie marker. Its one of my faves as it stands out so well against Copics. Stitches were also added and some fun gingham pattern papers which totally reminds me of the season :)
I love this time of year and June especially for Strawberry season!
The Image is coloured with Copics, some stitches and co-ordinating buttons were added to the design. I really like this paper it has so many great Summer elements, with kind of a chalk board effect. The paper was picked up from One Cray Stamper last year and I always love the selection of pattern they have in stock :)
The image is coloured with Copics and the pattern paper has some nice Summery images that I thought went well with this sweet gal! This is actually a Recipe Card in a way as there is a recipe inside the card! :)
I added a Watermelon Slushy Recipe to the inside of the card for a little added fun. There's lots of areas to write as the entire inside is covered in layers of pattern papers.
I think this would be a nice way to invite a friend for a Summer BBQ or maybe a drink or two.

I love that Summer is finally here, I'm looking forward to creating with lots of Summer themed stamps this season :)
I decided to create a beach scene using a fold down easel card.
The sentiment reads ....
its exhausting being this fabulous, I dont know how we do it!!!!!
The image is coloured with Copics, along with some stitching and glossy accents.
Art Impressions is having an "Layer it" challenge over on their blog and decided to join in on the fun :) This is my interpretation of the challenge, I used a fold down easel card layered with die cuts & stamped images, stitches & a background scene.
Such fun, I love all the little details around the tub and the kitten too :)
I decided to add a shower curtain to the scene using a patterned fabric. Its a thin cotton and realized it could be cut with my trimmer just like paper (which I thought was pretty cool.)
The background wallpaper was created with Copics. Used a super light B000 and sketched out the strips and dots then moved to a darker marker and added layers.
Stitches and Liquid Applique for some bubbles were added to the design.
It's the first time I used the Liquid Applique. Picked it up the last time I was in to see Lora at One Crazy Stamper. Was instructed to apply and let dry overnight., then heat set and it puffed right up. It was actually exciting LOL!
Summer days are here and I thought I would create a little card with this super sweet pup called Puppy Wonder found here (From High Hopes Stamps)
I really wanted to colour him up in soft browns for a different look.
I realized part way through his face just wasn't looking that great as there was not enough hi-lights and contrast. I try to avoid wasting good copic paper and savor every morsel.
So ....what is a gal to do?
I decided to re-stamp the face, fussy cut and added it to the image. I curled the ears for a 3D effect and I actually like the look!
Another little boo boo turned around, almost like I meant to do that! :)
I really like this stamp and how the sweet flower is peeking out of the grass along with the butterfly. It's all the little details that make the stamped image so special. This is one of my favorite stamps for sure!
Thanks for peeking! Hope your getting crafty today! :)

I used the coordinating SVG with this little guy. There's two parts to the SVG being the background and the exact cut around the stamp which saves a lot of fussy cutting and time.
The sheet music has been in my scrap paper pile for quite some time and thought it would be a fun addition to the card. A few zig zag stitches and music note brads helped with the finishing touches on the design!
I am from Toronto Canada and I love the simple things in life. The garden, rubber stamping, scrapbooking, old things, pyrex and Fiestaware. My idea of a Vacation is relaxing at home working on small projects (boring I know), but I love it!
Thank you so much for stopping by to visit! Note, May I ask that my cards are not added to Pintrest. These are my personal creations that I would like to share with you but not on pintrest. Thank you.
