Lisa's card photo turorial - part1

Taking photos of cards is not an easy task. There is nothing more frustrating that having a nice big shadow on the face of your card. Most of my pictures are taken at night after work and to add to the darkness is the lighting in the house. There have been many evenings where I have tried to balance a lamp basically on my head while trying to take a photo. Sounds funny I know.... it's true! I now have a light box that works really good and cuts down on the frustrating moments but it would be really nice to take a quick and easy photo with natural light and let the camera do all the work!
Lisa's is providing a tutorial over on her blog . The first part which is filled with great tips is on white balance. These photos were taken at about 8pm and we have basically had no sunlight and a lot of rain this week. Really shocked on how slight adjustments to the cameras settings make a big difference.

Check out Lisa's tutorial, she provides a card to download and detailed information on white balance.

The white balance selections are per programed so I changed the auto white balance on the camera to Incandescent. Also I found a scene selection which allows you to choose the scene such as food, beach snow, fireworks and high sensivity. I changed the scene to the High Sensivity selection and it's to shoot without flash in low light
