Fall Butterfly

One more quick card this morning before work. Made with Hero Arts CG197 old letter, F5158 Heart winged butterfly, CL218 la letter. Stamped with Frayed Burlap and Tea dye distress inks. Also added a vintage button that has tiny hearts on it which I thought was a good match with this butterfly.
The photo is taken on a tree stump at the side of our house, we recently planted strawberries around it trying to make it blend into the back yard!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!! :)

Operation Write Home card for a Hero & envelopes

Dear Hero Card made for Operation Write Home, inside of the card has a raccoon holding a flower with the sentiment you make my world happy. Since I am not sure who will receive this card I tried to make it for either a man or woman.

Also made some envelopes for the OWH cards below this post and added a white address label to the outside of the envie for a matching set.

Operation Write Home Cards

Just a few cards to share, made for Operation Write Home. Very simple designs made with Kraft paper which is now becoming my new favorite background! I still need to line my cards with white paper to write on which I will do before I mail them out.

Hope your weekend was good! :)

Thank you Hero Arts!

Huge thank you to Hero Arts for sending these stamps for their Blinkie Giveaway! Thank you soooo much!! :)I cant wait to try these beautiful stamps out. The Hero Arts Blinkies are available on their blog at www.heroarts.com where you can get a blinkie for your site too. :)

I've taken a break this week from making cards just trying to recharge my mojo. Spending time in my craft room cleaning, sorting and some organization. Now have a basket to put stamped images that never made it on a card and decided to punch butterflies out on the super small paper scraps and images that I know I will never use.
Plan to spend the rest of the week visiting blogs and getting caught up on all the creativity out there.

Have a great evening, thank you for stopping by! :)

Mustard, Navy & Hot Pink?

Made for Play Date Cafe colour horribilis challenge. Colours include Mustard, Navy and Hot Pink. Quite the color combo, I could never imagine using these colours together until now!

Made with ...
Hero Arts K5298 blooming heart and CL342 Everyday Sayings. The mustard background paper is from Daisyd's Wonder Years card stock and it has a touch of navy blue running through it. Also a bit of zigzag stitches using navy blue thread. The butterflies are made using Martha Stewart classic butterfly craft punch.

August 30th is my Wedding Anniversary and we celebrated over the weekend with a nice dinner. We had ... chicken breast wrapped in bacon topped with roasted green pepper and a whole roasted tomato, drizzled over this was Sun dried tomato and oregano dressing. Not sure how I came up with this but I figured anything wrapped in bacon has to be good! Also had garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. It was really yummy!! If you like garlic try these potatoes, I make them all the time after falling in love with them at a restaurant in Northern Ontario. I just roast at least 2 whole garlic cloves in a touch of oil in the oven until they are nice and brown. In a bowl chop up the garlic into small pieces, add some pepper, garlic salt, chives, and basil. Mix this into your regular mashed potatoes. They are so tasty!!

Just a note paper flowers

Super quick post today as I have to get ready for work. This card was inspired by Lin's gorgeous card here.
Made with Hero Arts
CL342 Everyday Sayings
S5208 Designer Wood grain (stamped with antique linen)
cl401 speckled ornaments (stamped with peeled paint)

The paper for the flowers is from daisyd's and it's a double sided card stock. I think this company is actually out of business but I found this a our local dollar store. This paper is nice to use because there is a different print on both sides (the outside of the flowers are yellow and pink design inside). The base of the card is regular white card stock stamped with HA wood grain, glued it to another piece of white cardstock and took one side of the scissors to the edge to give a rough look, touched Worn lipstick on the edges of the card and also the flowers.

Thanks for looking, have a very happy stamping day!!

Sending Smiles!

I just adore this clear set from Hero Arts called Sending Smiles (CL444). So many great garden elements to choose from. Thought it would be fun to make the basket of flowers look like a purse :)

So glad it's the Weekend, now hopefully I will have a chance to look around Flickr and all the wonderful blogs out there to see what everyone has been up to!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great Weekend!! :)

Italian Style - Play date cafe

Well it's back to work for me this week. So long to sleeping in, no makeup, blue jeans and my pony tail. It was so nice to have some time off. :)
Made this card for the Play Date Cafe Italian Style. The butterflies are from a company called Local King Rubber Stamps. Background is an Anna Griffin Stamp (I also used on my Wedding cards many years ago) and the Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Just a note Birds

Still on Vacation and enjoying the time off. So far I have refinished an old antique bench and I am now working on an old oval window sanding and removing the paint. I would like to make some stained glass inserts for this window using 2 clear beveled birds few flowers and butterflies. I picture the window almost looking like this card.
Made with worn lipstick and a white ink to soften the pink. Also added a music note brad to match the sentiment.
