Winters Butterfly

Hope everyone is doing well, its been a busy few weeks and I look forward to some down time at Christmas to do some extra creating and blog visiting too!
I recently purchased this winters butterfly clear set and have truly enjoyed using it. The sentiment is one of my all time favorites and the snowflakes are so delicate they just give a wonderful Winter feel!

Tags are made with Hero Arts CL234 Winters Butterfly, cg125 Friends Definition. The sentiment is masked for a different look, the background snowflakes are made with broken china and peeled paint distress inks applied gently with a sponge and the negative portion of a die cut. The friends definition is lightly stamped using antique linen, the sides of the tags are distressed in tea dye from Tim Holtz.

Thanks for stopping have a great Weekend and Happy USA Thanksgiving to everyone!

Wreath of Leaves Card & a Matchbox

It's been a busy few weeks of creating card samples as I am excited to announce that I will be teaching a few card making & decorated matchbox classes at my local scrapbook store Scrapbook Queens. I could just spend hours looking around at all the yummy card making supplies, beautiful papers and tools they have on hand.
This card is made with CG215 wreath of leaves and B5085 Poinsettia Bloom rubber stamps from Hero Arts. The background papers are from Pinkpaislee Father Christmas card stock along with a few pearls, gems and ribbon. Also just to mention that the ribbon is curled using old hair curlers that you plug in.

This matchbox is one I made for a friend who loves to scrapbook. It's filled with Winter embellishments just for fun!

Here are a few snip-its of the cards we will be creating in class on Thursday November 25th from 7:00 until 9:00pm.

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a super creative evening! :)

Vintage Christmas

Just wanted to share this design, it was my Christmas card last year,I made about 20 of these and sent them to friends and family. I have some extra backgrounds already sewen up so I thought I would make a few more for this year. Made with Hero Arts K4827. The pink embellishment is from K & Company, it was the last one so the other are made with a snowflake coated in glitter. The vintage girl is from an old postcard, little gems for the buttons on her coat and some white glitter for the snow at the bottom of the sleigh. Also some sewing and a border, ink along the edges for an old tea stained look.

Have a great evening, tomorrow's Friday!! Yippie :)

Quick 90 minute challenge!

Its been a day full of paper and ink today so I'm a happy camper. This card was made for Heather Maria's 90 minute challenge on the Hero Arts Flickr group this morning. So... we only had 90 minutes to post our card using an unexpected element. Some really fab ideas these ladies came up with including a Bounce dryer sheet torn into strips for snow, coffee filter flowers and so many more great elements. I decided to use the bells from my wreath and snow for creating little village scenes at Christmas.

We just had a new Scrapbooking store open up down the street, today is their grand opening celebration. It's very exciting to now have a local store that I can pop into and pick up supplies! Scrapbook Queens is a very large store filled with all the latest stamps and supplies, they also have a scrapbooking area set up for crops and classes! I have been in a few times since they have opened and they are all so friendly and welcoming, I have to try not to drool over their awesome selection of Hero Arts Stamps...lol :)

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have time to relax and create this weekend!

I am so happy to be making Christmas cards now instead of last minute in December. I was able to visit a real rubber stamp shop in Toronto this week called Bizzy B's Stamps. It was pretty exciting to see row after row of nothing but rubber stamps! This card is made with Hero Arts CL354 Let the Angels Sing. I was inspired by all the wonderful cards made with this set on Flickr, I love how Virginia added the clouds to her card, so I thought I would add some fluffy snow to mine.
The snow is called Buffalo Snow Flurries which is used to make village scenes at Christmas.
Virginia's wonderful card can be seen here!

Thank you for for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend and Canadian Thanksgiving!! :)

Happy World Card Making Day Blog Hop!

Happy World Card Making Day to everyone! To celebrate I made this card last night to coordinate with one of my first Flickr Hero Arts posts. The tag below was made for a glitter challenge last Christmas. The background on the tag is a glitter paper, a few Santas and star brads. It gave a real nice twinkle sitting on a gift under the tree.
This card is embossed on Kraft with Candy Cane Stripes embossing folder and the snowy hill is stamped and covered with glitter. I decided not to add a sentiment since the ribbon has words, it just seemed to busy with both. I also coloured Santas beard with white opaque paint marker to give a bit of texture
Supplies used on this card ...
Hero Arts Merriest Wishes CL113
Hero Arts Candy Cane Santa E3697
Copic Markers G05 &R27
Diamond Sugar Dust glitter
Michaels Brand ribbon
Kraft cardstock
Dollar Store red mirror Snowflake embellishments
Fine Line Deco Color Marvy opaque paint marker

Hope everyone enjoys creating on this fun day! Sending you huge World Card Making hugs. :)
