Laugh and Smile!

Thanks for peeking in today. I've been playing around with this sweet High Hopes  "Little Miss Spring Time" stamp. She is so sweet, I want to squeeze her!!!

Did a bit of fussy cutting and added pop dots for dimension.  The background paper was picked out after I had this gal coloured and it seemed to be a good match with the flowers in her hair and the one she was holding.
The little hill was created with paper pinking scissors and sewing stitches using a thick button thread.

Once again added eyelashes with a fine copic pen which is good because it does not smear when Copic are used over it.

Pop by the High Hopes blog and play along in the latest challenge. If your short on a stamp there is a digi offered at no charge :)

Wishing you a happy Wednesday!

Think Spring -- xox

We've made it through Valentine's and the next stop should be Spring, Easter, St Patty's day? Well .... maybe I am looking a little too far ahead, but if wishful thinking will help get us there sooner I will think Spring!

This little cutie is from High Hopes Stamps new release called Taking a break and can be found here. I coloured her with copics and created the background by adding  clouds, grass and ground covering.

Some extra added touches like the little bow, eyelashes and tiny little flowers which by the way were handmade by a friend (thanks Denise)! The pleated ruffle was also hand made and is super easy to create.
Fold, staple and repeat to create a pleated effect.  I like using Tim Holtz tiny stapler as I find the pleats sit nice and its less bulky.  Although a regular stapler would also work.
Once you have the desired length you can trim the edge for a neater effect.
My tag was created using the old typewriter. Since the tag is so tiny I used low tac painters tape and adhered it to a bigger paper to type the sentiment.

Thanks for peeking in and be sure to play along in this weeks challenge on the High Hopes Blog.  If your short on stamps there is a digi offered so you can play along!
Enjoy the rest of the week!

Tea 4 Two -- High Hopes

Thanks so much for peeking in today.  I adore this sweet couple (Tea for Two) and have many ideas to create cards with this fun stamp! I decided to make an outdoor scene and have the tea cup riding a wave! Silly right?  I know but it makes me smile and hopefully the person that receives this card will be smiling too.
The background was created using a circle die cut for the sun and cloud die cut too.  I did airbrush using a Copic airbrush system but you can totally create the same effect using Tim Holtz distress inks and a distress tool.
A little bit of fussy cutting, sewing stitches and we are done! The sentiment is hand made using old fashion rub-ons!

Stop by the High Hopes Blog and join in on the anything goes challenge.  If your short on stamps there is a free digital stamp that you can use.  Check it out here :)
Hope your week is going good!
Smiles :)

Little Miss Springtime -- High Hopes Stamps

I've totally fallen in love with the new release over at High Hopes Stamps. This gal goes by the name "Little Miss Springtime" which is perfect timing for me since we had a huge snow storm last night. I need thoughts of Spring to keep me going these days. I could just squeeze this little cutie, she's so adorable!! :)
I tried to use light and airy Spring colours (to match her name) and added Glossy Accents to the polka dots on her dress.

I'm also happy to announce that I will be joining the designing gals over at High Hopes Stamps, I'm totally excited!! :)

Pop by the blog and check out the creations and this weeks challenge, I would love to see yours!

Be my valentine -- Wonderful Wed

It's another Wonderful Wed over at Kraftin Kimmie.
Hope you can play along :) I used a heart doily from the baking section of my local craft store for a lacy effect :) Lots of sewing stitches and Copic colouring too.
The ribbon is a fave of mine, its plain white and has a silky feel with a nice weight to it.  It goes with all projects, Its always nice to have a go to ribbon in a neutral colour!

All about Boys!

Happy Saturday and thanks so much for peeking in today :) This weeks Kraftin Kimmie Challenge is "all about boys" and I hope you will be playing along.  I had to use my Sherlock as I am totally lovin' this guy and I have a lot of guy birthdays coming up in the months ahead so .... I think he works out pretty darn good :)

I did  lots of distressing with Vintage photo and black soot to give a deep muted feel to the design. The paper stack is an old Butcher block papers
from Michaels that had lots of blue and kraft colours included.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Wonderful Wed - Elementary

It's wonderful Wednesday  over at Kraftin Kimmie.  I made this card for a Guy birthday and plan on sending it to someone special.  Wood grain background papers, twine and Sherlock I hope give a "manly" feel to the design. The canvas tags are different but I think it works okay with this design!
Hope you play along over at Kraftin Kimmie!! :)

Thanks for peeking today.  Hope you have a great week ahead! :)

For a girl -- High Hopes Challenge

Thanks so much for peeking in today,  I am super excited to be a guest over at High Hopes Stamps!!Their challenge for today is to create a card for a girl, and this is what I came up with :)

I tried to use lots of pinks and white along with a neutral  black for a pop of contrast.Thought this would be fun for a Winter Girl theme card.
Do you colour your image first then create your card design? Or the other way around? I usually colour my image first but in this case I wasn't sure of the colours I should use so I mocked up a card then started pulling Copic colours from the design.  I seemed to get somewhat of a good match ... I think??

mocked up card .... and yes that's painters tape under the ribbon lol! I like tacking everything together first and it may not even be the end result but it gives me an idea of how the card will look and if I need to make changes before everything is hot glued down!

Anyways I hope your Tuesday is a good one and please check out the High Hopes blog for more inspiration and awesome stamps!!

Heart shaker card

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope your enjoying the hop! I've really been loving these new sentiment stamps and thought I would make a soft pink and grey design that may be nice for Valentines day. I added the acetate and sequins to create a shaker card for added fun! :)
stitching added around the heart and outside circle for added detail :)
