Poinsettia Christmas Tag
Just trying to fit in a few last minute project before Christmas! A little Poinsettia tag made with Canvas (from an Ikea Bag) and Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium. I cut 6 small medium and large petals from canvas material, inked with Mahogany distress ink and sprayed with a mini mister filled with water. Once dried I brushed on the matte medium and shaped the petals, once dried glued with a hot glue gun. I can see using the matte medium for other flowers as it makes the fabric stiff and holds its shape.
Have a cheery & merry day!

Vintage Pink Paris ATC
Happy Friday! A few days off this week has allowed a bit of time for crafting. A little experimenting on this ATC on the background using a rubber stamp and texture magic from Delta. Texture magic is a dimensional paint that adds texture to any surface (...wonder if drywall compound would also work). It was in the dollar bin at our local store so I just had to try it! A thick layer of this gunky material was added to the ATC background, smoothed out with a craft knife and stamped. (Also wiped the stamp with baby oil so it would release from the texture magic.) A few sprays of Glimmer mist, along with vintage photo and walnut distress inks.
Hope your weekend is amazing!

The next 90 minute scramble on Sunday!
I am very excited to be hosting the next 90 minute scramble on the Hero Arts Flickr group!
Here are the details...
Date: Sunday July 24th
Start time: 11am Pacific/1pm Central/2pm Eastern in US
Please see all the details here
If this is the first you've heard of the scramble here are some more details :) First you will need to have a flickr account so you can post your creation.
I will post a new thread on the Hero Arts Flickr Group announcing the start of the challenge.
Basically you will have 90 minutes to create a card based on a theme to be announced at the start of the challenge. You must use at least one Hero Arts stamp on your card and have fun! :)
Hero Arts has generously donated a digital kit prize and I will also be offering a prize (shown above). Both giveaways will be by random drawing at the end of the scramble.
If you're new to posting I can help. Just email me through flickr :)
Everyone is welcome to join, hope to see you there :)

Lisa's card photo turorial - part1
Taking photos of cards is not an easy task. There is nothing more frustrating that having a nice big shadow on the face of your card. Most of my pictures are taken at night after work and to add to the darkness is the lighting in the house. There have been many evenings where I have tried to balance a lamp basically on my head while trying to take a photo. Sounds funny I know.... it's true! I now have a light box that works really good and cuts down on the frustrating moments but it would be really nice to take a quick and easy photo with natural light and let the camera do all the work!
Lisa's is providing a tutorial over on her blog . The first part which is filled with great tips is on white balance. These photos were taken at about 8pm and we have basically had no sunlight and a lot of rain this week. Really shocked on how slight adjustments to the cameras settings make a big difference.
Check out Lisa's tutorial, she provides a card to download and detailed information on white balance.
The white balance selections are per programed so I changed the auto white balance on the camera to Incandescent. Also I found a scene selection which allows you to choose the scene such as food, beach snow, fireworks and high sensivity. I changed the scene to the High Sensivity selection and it's to shoot without flash in low light

Lucky number 13!
Its been one lucky Friday the 13th. I had misplaced my gold necklace Christmas Eve and gave up searching for it months ago. Came home for lunch and found it sitting in an old pyrex bowl ........so happy :) My Italian grandmother would say the number 13 is a good luck number in Italy, I now believe her!
Here are a few vintage ATC I have been working on. I love this Hero Arts dogwood stamp, it has a beautiful old world charm.
This little set of three is embellished with micro glass beads, stamped in Victorian velvet, vintage photo and sage distress inks. Victorian velvet is a really neat ink, when its first stamped its more of a bold colour and as it dries it has a real soft look to it. This may be my new favorite distress ink! The combination of sage & vintage photo seem to give an old patina look which is great when creating vintage. Also created a little ATC pocket to hold and display these cards!
Made with a mix of Hero Arts stamps & sprayed with Ranger perfect pearls Heirloom Gold mist.

There's nothing better than snail mail!
I was pretty excited to find out that my friend Greta popped a card in the mail for me! Knowing that there is snail mail due to arrive I usually peek out the front window waiting for the mail man to drive up and watch to see if it looks like bills or fun mail being dropped in our box. A few times he caught me peeking so I just smile and wave (how embarrassing ... lol). Well I missed stalking the mail man the day Greta's card arrived as I overslept and had to dash out the door. So I had a lovely suprise waiting for me once I returned home.
Greta cards are always so beautiful and full of special details. The embossing and distressing adds so much texture to her design and the added flowers are a gorgeous touch! I am totally spoiled to receive this wonderful package.
Thanks soooo much Greta! :)
Spring flowers
A few projects to share today. A little pot of spring flowers inked in weather wood and spun sugar. I really love this big flower set, the flowers are just so cheery. The center of the flowers are raised on pop dots and glossy accents are also added.
Also wanted to share a make and take I made at Scrapfest in Kitchner at the Maya Road Booth. Lots of fun to put together, these big bottle caps are really neat!

Lets Talk - Masculine card
Just a quick post this morning. Wanted to share a masculine card made with Kraft Paper and distress inks. A sketch was used from Hero Arts which really made things a lot easier with creating this "guy card". Faded Jeans and Vintage photo distress inks plus also Mementos Tuxedo Black ink which shows really well on Kraft paper. Faded Jeans is a fairly new ink in my collection and I was surprised how well it matched with the Jean Scrapbook paper I used as my backdrop!
Thanks for looking, have a fab Friday!

Happy Birthday!
Happy Friday and Happy April to you! We are one step closer to seeing some warm weather and I can't wait!
Getting ready butterfly birthday is made with Hero Arts cg265 getting ready and cm003 happy birthday sentiment. The colours used are from Fresh Inspiration Friday…the Dining Room photo on the Hero Arts blog. The getting ready image is clear heat embossed, cut out with pop dots added against patterned paper. The sentiment is stamped on clear acetate and some craft feathers to create a boa. I really love this sweet image it reminds me of a little girl playing dress up.
Made one more fabric flower from Kelly's tutorial using Pool paint dauber from Tim Holtz, CG187 floral brocade plus also added a pin and vintage button.
Today is hat day at work. March is always our busiest month at the company I work for and they have been spoiling us all week. I tried to crochet a hat with a flower back in December but my tension was too tight and it ended up too small. One of the fab gals at work brought me in this felted flower hat and I am so excited to wear it today!
Have a great creative weekend!
Flower Hair Embellishments
The weekend is just around the corner and I look forward to having some time to create! These embellished hair clips are super fun to make! I ended up using Tim Holtz paint daubers instead of ink as the colour is more vibrant. Also, most of my coloured inks are distress and I was not sure if distress inks would bleed if the recipient of these clips was caught in the rain. I believe with acrylic paints the colour is permanent once dried, so I gave it a try! Both the front and back of the cut circles are stamped since cream coloured fabric was used, it just seemed like to much of a contrast leaving the backside unstamped.
The small heart shaped clips are from the dollar store and they worked great. Also picked up the butterfly ones to, they were too cute to pass up!
The instructions and idea for these clips are provided by Kelly on the Hero Arts Blog. She gives a great tutorial/demo on how to make these! I think these would be fun clipped on a hand bag, purse or back with a pin for a coat. Thanks for the inspiration Kelly! Now I just need to make a card to clip them onto.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

More flowers ! Yay!! :)
Ok, I admit it ... I am out of control and obsessed with making flowers, I will stop soon, promise! I have two different flowers to share. Both ribbon flowers are made with a silky white ribbon from my local scrap book store. They are inked with worn lipstick and weathered wood. The instructions come from Anita one of the sweet Hero Arts hostesses. Check out her video here, Anita tutorial is great and these are really fun to make!
The second flower which I call my coconut flower was actually a flower experiment which did not turn out. So I started sniping the peatles and this is what I ended up with!
