Hey there Punkin

I'm trying to learn to work through crafting hiccups and accept / embrace mistakes in my work.  As I finished up colouring this gal and her pumpkins I was happy with the results and was ready to make a card to go with the image.
There was just one more little enhancement I was going to make before starting the card....  Create a sky background of course!  Everything started off fine, using B00 and B01 on the background  pull out my Wide 0 Copic to soften the background and sure enough there was black marker on my clear Copic 0 which left undesirable smudges all over the background. Well, that's not good, lol. My first reaction was to scrap the image and start again.

Feeling lazy I decided to try and airbrush the background to see if I could hide the marks. It helped but I could still see some here and there. Then I decided to place the sentiment over the most noticeable marks and it helped a lot. Actually I like the sentiment on the image which I would have never thought to do otherwise.. I'm happy and it saved all the work that went into colouring it up!,
Thanks for stopping by.

For the love of Fall

This is my favorite time of year. Love the cooler weather, crock-pot cooking, sunflowers and pumpkins.
Its our Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and I am looking forward to some yummy cooking and crafting!
This stamp set is one of Kimmies new fall sets and its totally fun!! :) I have entered it in Kraftin Kimmies fall challenge found here :) & One Crazy Stampers Halloween Christmas challenge found here :) !!
I saw my first pumpkin patch last weekend up in St Thomas. Really awesome!! These pictures are from a few weekends ago in Erin Ontario. The pumpkins were huge and about 60 bucks each. This nursery  had some beautiful fall eye candy...
Including these really neat flower arrangements!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

World Cardmaking Day

Spent  Saturday (World card making day) at Kraftin Kimmies crop. Such fun as there was all sorts of Make and Takes throughout  the day.
This altered box was created at one of the Make and takes hosted by Stephanie.

I like the idea of these boxes for mailing cards.  Here in Canada the max height for mailing  an oversize letter is 20mm and I think this would make the cut!
 Close up of altered box.
We were spoiled with lots of treats  and yummy food through the day.
My friend Linda crafting away .....
Me, trying to figure out how to complete the altered box :)
And to finish the day .... on the way home we were treated with the sight of a beautiful rainbow!

Throw Back Thursday Speckled Bloom Card

I'm joining in on Bibiana's Throw back Thursday today and wanted to share a card made many moons ago. You can see the Original post found here for more details and supplies used.   I have a step by step tutorial on how I made the flower...
One of my favorite Hero Arts stamps and added the distress inks direct to paper ...
Cut out all the flower parts :)

Used white acrylic paint and flicked the paint on the flower
and added some texture using glossy enamels (I think a poster paint pen or gems would work good too :)

Also shaped the flower by hand for more dimension and cut up into the petals to better shape the flower.

Thanks for joining me for TBT, hope this tutorial was helpful !! :)
Check out the other wonderful Throw Back Thursday's creations over at Bibana's blog found here

Merry Monday

I've been wanting to play along with Merry Monday's challenges since the start of the year and after seeing my friend Greta's wonderful cards made for the various challenges was very inspiring too.  Love the idea of having my Christmas cards ready before the start of December.... maybe I could actually be prepard this year :) ??
This week's challenge is Christmas Bingo and I choose to use Sparkle, Diecut, Red on my design!
The die cut is  Tim Holtz the Merry Background stamped in red with touches of glitter on my card.

A little card sent to a friend to say thank you! She was kind enough to text me good thoughts and pictures of cards she was making while I was nervously waiting for my dental surgery appointment.
The image is printed and cut from the Cricut Imagine using the best friends cartridge. Pop dots were added to this gal for some height.  Added some stitches and banners and a thank you sentiment using MSE rub-ons.  The tiny little flower was handmade by another friend Denise and I love using these :)

Wishing you a great weekend!!

Pumpkin Cupcakes -- Recipe Card

Recently I discovered the art of creating recipe cards, been watching some of the gals on you tube make and trade them. I would like to find a group to join, but for now I thought that it would be fun to make one card! :)

The stamp is a Kraftin Kimmie Christmas stamp (she's called Merry) I think she is good to use for a fall or thanksgiving creations.
The back of the card holds the recipe in the pocket. The little oven mits are also part of the Merry Set from Kimmie....
Recipe on the tags.

Tea Party

Just sharing a little tea party card created with the Cricut Imagine.  I recently bought a used machine and love the images that can be created.  If your not familiar with the Imagine its kinda like the outcast of cricut machines. Its a print  and cut which is now discontinued but I love it!!! I can see a lot of potential for creativity :)

Added some turquoise cardstock to pull the colour from the image,  roses which are just made with  rolled paper , ribbon and stitches for an afternoon tea party look! This card went to a friend and I hope she likes it!! :)

Sweet Summer Cherries

This card was created mid Summer and I'm a wee bit behind in posting. The cherries and shaped card base are cut with the Cricut Preserves Cartridge, the background text is an old fave  from Hero Arts.

Added some detailing with a white sharpie marker & glossy accents.  The card is sprayed with Glimmer Mist for a shimmery effect.
Since I used the Preserves cartridge to make the cherries card I thought I would share some preserves made over the weekend :)
yep lots of peach and mixed berry jam!

thanks for stopping by. have a great day :)

Summer Deer

It's been a while since I last posted here on my blog. Been painting and cleaning the house for weeks now and it's finally finished..... I hope!
This card was made a while back and I wanted to share and hopefully get back into the swing of blog  life that I miss so much.
The deer stamp is a Wild Rose stamp coloured  and with Copics. The gingham background paper is from an old 12x12 Anna Griffin design and the added floral  ribbon is from Craft Smart at Michaels.
Close up :)

Hope your Summer has been a good one, just cant believe its almost over. Still working on making jam and have 4 baskets of peaches waiting to ripen.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the week!
Smiles :) Nat

Summer Strawberries

I'm on holidays right now and still have another week off of work. Been doing lots of painting around the house, organization and gardening too. Made a card with the Cricut Preserves and Bo Bunny Lemonade Stand Summer paper pack.
The strawberry was cut with paint chips from Martha Stewart! :) picked up at Home Depo!
Wishing you a wonderful day!
