The weekend is just around the corner and I look forward to having some time to create! These embellished hair clips are super fun to make! I ended up using Tim Holtz paint daubers instead of ink as the colour is more vibrant. Also, most of my coloured inks are distress and I was not sure if distress inks would bleed if the recipient of these clips was caught in the rain. I believe with acrylic paints the colour is permanent once dried, so I gave it a try! Both the front and back of the cut circles are stamped since cream coloured fabric was used, it just seemed like to much of a contrast leaving the backside unstamped.
The small heart shaped clips are from the dollar store and they worked great. Also picked up the butterfly ones to, they were too cute to pass up!
The instructions and idea for these clips are provided by Kelly on the
Hero Arts Blog. She gives a great tutorial/demo on how to make these! I think these would be fun clipped on a hand bag, purse or back with a pin for a coat. Thanks for the inspiration Kelly! Now I just need to make a card to clip them onto.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
