Happy Birthday!

Happy Friday and Happy April to you! We are one step closer to seeing some warm weather and I can't wait!
Getting ready butterfly birthday is made with Hero Arts cg265 getting ready and cm003 happy birthday sentiment. The colours used are from Fresh Inspiration Friday…the Dining Room photo on the Hero Arts blog. The getting ready image is clear heat embossed, cut out with pop dots added against patterned paper. The sentiment is stamped on clear acetate and some craft feathers to create a boa. I really love this sweet image it reminds me of a little girl playing dress up.

Made one more fabric flower from Kelly's tutorial using Pool paint dauber from Tim Holtz, CG187 floral brocade plus also added a pin and vintage button.

Today is hat day at work. March is always our busiest month at the company I work for and they have been spoiling us all week. I tried to crochet a hat with a flower back in December but my tension was too tight and it ended up too small. One of the fab gals at work brought me in this felted flower hat and I am so excited to wear it today!

Have a great creative weekend!

Flower Hair Embellishments

The weekend is just around the corner and I look forward to having some time to create! These embellished hair clips are super fun to make! I ended up using Tim Holtz paint daubers instead of ink as the colour is more vibrant. Also, most of my coloured inks are distress and I was not sure if distress inks would bleed if the recipient of these clips was caught in the rain. I believe with acrylic paints the colour is permanent once dried, so I gave it a try! Both the front and back of the cut circles are stamped since cream coloured fabric was used, it just seemed like to much of a contrast leaving the backside unstamped.
The small heart shaped clips are from the dollar store and they worked great. Also picked up the butterfly ones to, they were too cute to pass up!
The instructions and idea for these clips are provided by Kelly on the Hero Arts Blog. She gives a great tutorial/demo on how to make these! I think these would be fun clipped on a hand bag, purse or back with a pin for a coat. Thanks for the inspiration Kelly! Now I just need to make a card to clip them onto.
Thanks for stopping by! :)

More flowers ! Yay!! :)

Ok, I admit it ... I am out of control and obsessed with making flowers, I will stop soon, promise! I have two different flowers to share. Both ribbon flowers are made with a silky white ribbon from my local scrap book store. They are inked with worn lipstick and weathered wood. The instructions come from Anita one of the sweet Hero Arts hostesses. Check out her video here, Anita tutorial is great and these are really fun to make!
The second flower which I call my coconut flower was actually a flower experiment which did not turn out. So I started sniping the peatles and this is what I ended up with!

Butterflies & Lace

I am so happy we've made it to March 1st! Spring is almost here and it won't be long before we start to see signs of life on the garden :)
It's been a while since I have used these butterflies so it was nice to ink up my old favorite set call butterflies and lace (AR169). I usually like to add elements in odd numbers but for this card one butterfly did not seem like enough and 3 was too many. So I decide to leave it at 2 and stamped the third one inside the card! I love using frayed burlap with kraft paper as it seems to be the closest match to kraft.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great inky week!

Thinking of you flowers

I am very excited to receive this lovely award from sweet Rosemary... thank you so much!! Along with getting this award I have to pick five people whose blogs I enjoy, pass the award onto them. (just right click on the award and save it to your computer) also state what I liked about them. Plus write five things about me!

Here are five blogs I absolutely adore...
Michelles blog is a wonderful source of inspiration, she is one talented lady and I love to check in and see what she has been up to!
Susanne just started her blog not too long ago, she has a love of wildlife just like me and has posted some really amazing photos. Her cards have a beautiful romantic touch to them.
Another favorite blog of mine is Sue Her use of colours and style is truly beautiful and I always enjoy visiting her blog!
Virginia always amazes me with her creativity. Not only does she make beautiful cards she often shares her yummy recipes and world travels too! Total inspiration and one talented lady!
Alice amazes me with the large number of gorgeous creations she posts. She is part of many design teams and her digital stamping and sense of style is out of this world!

Here are five little tidbits about me :) ...
1) I am at my happiest when I am at home spending a quiet day crafting, no TV, No radio just playing around with stamps and inks!
2)I've been wanting to get a tiny tattoo of my two cats together with a heart around them. My older cat will have a pair of angel/butterfly wings and my little cat will be fashioning a set of horns!
3)I have worked at the same company for 18 years and love it!
4)I got married at an apple farm in rural Ontario many years ago and made all my Invitation for the wedding using Anna Griffin Floral stamps.
5)I cook dinner every night for my husband after work, not that I like cooking by more out of necessity. We made a deal that I would cook and my he would do all the grocery shopping. It works out great for me as the shopping takes so much time out of my day. My husband does the meal planning too so I don't even have to think about that part. Just cook the food! Tonight is roast beef!

Thinking of you floral card is made with Hero Arts CL342 everyday sayings & CL431 Watercolor Petals.
Thanks for stopping by, Presidents Day to my US friends and happy Family Day in Ontario Canada too!

Happy Valentines Day!

.

Wishing you a beautiful Valentines Day!

The Appearance of Cameos

My plan was to set these Silhouettes stamps aside for a while as I have been using them quite a bit on my cards. They are really hard to resist and totally my new favorite stamps to play with. After seeing the Moxie Fab challenge for the appearance of cameos and the beautiful write up and photos of etched cameos I was so inspired & had to make one last card with them. I decided to combine both the Moxie Fab challenge with the monthly Hero Arts theme of Love and Friendship and this is what I came up with. There's still time to add a card, so get busy and start stamping!! :)
Here is a quick picture of the LP195 Three Silhouettes stamps from Hero Arts...ah I love these ladies :)

Beautiful Butterflies

There is nothing better than receiving a handmade card from a friend in the mail. I have been spoiled with these 2 beautiful cards from two beautiful ladies! Both have butterflies which are my all time favorite and I love them both. Huge thank you to Rosemary and Dana for sending these beauties!

It's been many days since I have posted, I was finding it difficult to take photos at night. Too many shadows appearing on cards and I found myself trying to balance a lamp on my head while trying to take a photo (my husband got a good laugh watching me with the lamp :). So I decided to try and make a photo box and buy some lighting before posting anymore cards. Well, thanks to Susanne (Stampersuzz) and her instructions I made a photo light box last night and it works great! These two cards from Rosemary and Dana are the first photos taken in the box and it was so much easier and fast too!

I am also posting a card for the ladies in my technique class. Also a butterfly which I made quite awhile ago. We made a similar card to this one on the weekend!

Thanks for stopping by, keep warm and have a great day! :)
